The 8th Week

Finally I finished Project 2 - Link List. In this project, I have learned how to use the color wheel to pick the color scheme, layout the page, work with the links, organize the navigation, archor the subtitles in a long page, etc.

Last week we were assigned the final project. My topic is "Selling Gardening Supplies to Geeks." This is gonna be fun as we will need to design a logo for the shop, find the right images for the page, analyze the audience, etc.

The 7th Week

Wow! It has been seven weeks since I attended this class. Sharon is back from her vacation. Everything is back to normal.

This week, we are assigned the FINAL project. Yes, this is the final one. That means there are few more weeks in the Summer. I choose a topic "Selling Gardening Supplies to Geeks!!!" Sounds like fun, huh?!?! Well, this one is gonna have a lot to do because we need to create a company name, design a logo, use all the skills that we have learned in the class to accomplish this project.

I can't wait to work on it. My dream website will be like those in CSS Zen Garden.

The 6th week

Sharon was out for the entire week, so we had a substitute teacher Debra in class this week.

This week was focusing on Frames. Although I don't like frames very much as it looks ugly and boxy to me, I have been learning a lot from these two lessons.

On Wednesday, I was mainly working on the Link List project. I found that very interesting as I could use whatever skill - table, CSS, anchor, organization, color wheel, etc. - I have learned from the class to put up this website. The list is very big, so it will take a bit more time to finish it.

The 5th week

It was a short week last week because of July 4th weekend. Time flies. I have made it half way.

Last time we learned how to create patterns in Corel Painter Classic, which was a new program that I have never used before. I found that it was very interesting and easy to use. It can also make seamless pattern which save me lots of work and energy to create one in Photoshop or Fireworks.

Also, the class has begun making a simple website for the link list. I am practicing in HTML and CSS. So far, I only have the basic layout and navigation in place, and will keep working on it this week.
